This Privacy Policy explains what personal data the Ayknow app and website (“Ayknow”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We act as the data controller for this processing. If you have any questions, contact us at support@ayknow.app.

1. Data we collect

Account data

  • Email address: when you sign up with an email and password, or sign in with Google or Apple.
  • Username: chosen by you and visible to other players.
  • Name: only if you sign in with Apple and choose to share it.
  • Password: only if you sign up with an email. It is stored encrypted and we never see it in plain text.
  • Account identifier: an internal ID we create for your account.

Learning and game data

  • Your progress, scores, XP, level, streaks, completed challenges, diamonds, hearts and the profile items you unlock.
  • Your friends list, friend requests and duel results.

Purchase data

If you buy diamonds or subscribe to Ayknow Ultimate, the payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive purchase confirmations, product IDs and your subscription status, but never your payment card or bank details.

Advertising data (Google AdMob)

The free version of Ayknow shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure these ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect technical data from your device, such as a device or advertising identifier, your IP address and an approximate location derived from it, information about the ads you see and tap, and diagnostic data. Google collects this data under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Ayknow Ultimate subscribers do not see ads.

Support data

If you contact our support, we receive your email address and the content of your message.

What we do not collect

We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, precise location or health data. Daily reminder notifications are scheduled on your device and do not require us to collect any data.

2. How we use your data

  • To provide the app: create and secure your account, save your progress, show your profile to your friends, run duels, daily challenges and rewards, and unlock your purchases.
  • To keep the service working and safe: fix problems and prevent cheating, abuse and fraud.
  • To show ads in the free version.
  • To contact you about your account, for example password resets or important changes. We never send marketing emails without your consent.
  • To comply with the law and enforce our terms.

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

  • Contract: to provide the service you signed up for (account, progress, social features, purchases).
  • Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention and keeping the service working.
  • Consent: where required, in particular for personalised ads in the European Economic Area and the UK.
  • Legal obligation: for example, keeping purchase records required by law.

4. Who we share data with

  • Microsoft Azure: hosts our servers and stores app data.
  • Google: Google Sign-In (if you use it), Google Play payments (Android) and AdMob advertising.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple (if you use it) and App Store payments (iOS).
  • Other players: your username, profile card, level and duel results are visible to your friends and opponents.
  • Authorities: only if required by law.

5. International transfers

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When they do, they rely on safeguards recognised by EU law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and progress data are deleted from our systems, except for information we must keep to comply with the law (for example, records related to purchases).

7. Your rights and choices

  • Delete your account at any time in the app (Settings › Delete my account) or by following our Delete Account page. An active Ultimate subscription must be cancelled separately in your App Store or Google Play settings.
  • Access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time, by contacting support@ayknow.app. We will reply within the time limits required by law.
  • Ads: you can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalisation in your device settings.
  • Complain to a data protection authority, for example the Irish Data Protection Commission or the authority in your country (CNIL in France, AEPD in Spain).

8. Children

Ayknow is intended for users aged 16 and over in the European Union, and 13 and over elsewhere, unless local law requires a higher age. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and passwords are stored encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

10. Cookies (website)

This website only uses what is strictly necessary to run it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

11. Advertising transparency

We host an app-ads.txt file on our domain to list the sellers authorised to sell ads in Ayknow.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Ayknow evolves. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the app or on this website. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
